GOBI MANCHURIAN (MY VERSION)

Most of us are familiar with the word 'GOBI MANCHURIAN'.Each of us have eaten this recipe outside in a restaurant. How about trying this in our homes??Although I too wished the same ,but I modified it in a healthy way to feed my kids(The original recipe uses all sauces).To my wonder my husband was surprised when I told him that there are no sauces in it.Because it tasted equally good.




Ingredients
cauli flower 300 gms large florets cut
oil for frying
for the batter
maida 2tsp
corn flour 2tsp
chilli powder 1tsp
salt 1/2tsp
red food colour  (very optional)

fot the gravy
tomatoes 2 chopped
ginger garlic paste 1 1/2tsp
bell pepper(capsicum) 1 chopped
onion 1 chopped
chilli powder 1/2tsp
lime juice 2tsp
salt 1/2tsp



Method

Cut the cauliflower into large florets and dip it in salt and turmeric powder.Keep aside for half  an hour.
Take a large bowl ,mix the maida, chilli powder,corn flour,salt and red colour (if using) .
Add the cauliflower and mix the batter evenly on all florets.keep it for 1/2 an hour.
In the mean time,cut the tomatoes,bell pepper,onion.Squeeze the lime juice.
Take a pan ,heat oil and fry the florets.
Put it on a paper towel so that the excessoil is absorbed.
After frying,Put the ginger garlic paste in the remaining oil and saute for a minute.
Add the chopped tomatoes,cook covered for 5 minutes.Mash it like puree.
Add salt,lime juice and chilli powder.
Put the onion and capsicum .cook for 4 minutes.
Add the florets and mix well.
Cook for 3minutes and is ready to serve.

  • servings 3 adults
TIPS
You can also use wheat instead of maida.
Bake instead of frying if ure confident.
