Spinach - Chick peas masala(Dry Version)

Spinach is one of the richest source of iron and can be invariably used in any of the recipes may be as a starter, main course, snacks ,soups, drinks. It gives a deep green colour to the dishes.I happened by chance to make this dish and it became a hit at home and sometimes this happens with u guys too,Isn't it??.I had some cooked black chana with me in the refrigerator and a packet of baby spinach.I thought to combine both and make  a masala for rice. This really served very tasty and flavorful with rice but can be a good combo with rotis too.Do give this a try!!

Ingredients
baby spinach 170 g
black chick peas 1 cup cooked
onion 1 medium sliced
ginger -garlic paste 1tsp
tomato 1 medium chopped
chilly powder 1 tsp
coriander powder 1 tsp
garam masala 1/2 tsp
turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
salt
oil 2 tsp

Method
- Cook the chick peas in a pressure cooker with enough water, salt & turmeric powder.
- Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion till translucent.Add the ginger-garlic paste and saute till raw smell disappears.
- Add the tomato chopped and keep stirring half cooked. Add all the spice powders and saute.
- Add the chopped spinach leaves and saute, cover cooked for 5 minutes.
- Wait till the leaves ooze out water and gets wilted.
-Add the cooked chick peas and adjust salt.
-Toss well, and dry up the water content on medium high heat.
-Serve with roti or rice !!!

Servings~ 1 plate
